Brings European Style into area East Lansing… East Lansing’s newest hair styling school
is set to open April 10. Lynn
Seegraves, owner of the new Protégé Academy of Cosmetology, said, “Our
school is going to offer many of the advantages that are only available
through the upbeat, global approach.
We will bring hair stylists trained in London with international
styling experience to teach workshops. These teachers are trained
internationally and constantly travel to schools around the world learning
and teaching new styling techniques.
We will be on their travel itinerary and their staff will be coming
here to train our students and teachers and our teachers will travel to
workshops in other locations. We
will be using the trendy, upbeat TIGI product line, which has influenced
the direction of hair fashion. TIGI
products like Catwalk, Bed Head, Fashionista, Curls Rock and the S Factor
are very popular.” Seegraves, the former owner of
the award winning Kali’s Boutique stores in East Lansing, Lansing,
Okemos, Grand Rapids, and Traverse City, said, “I’ve been working in
the fashion business for 20 years. We
think our association with TIGI products will create an exciting, hands-on
classroom environment to give our students the creative excitement of the
industry. We want to give them the best education available to help them
become excellent professional stylists and artists.” The academy is located near
Seegraves’ Hair and Body Elements Salon and Day Spa, which opened in
2003 in East Lansing’s Chandler Crossing Retail Complex.
Protégé Academy of Cosmetology will teach professional hair
styling, skin care, and nail services.
They will offer teacher training as part of their curriculum and
provide services done by senior students at a student rate.
Seegraves’ husband, Scott Comer, designed the academy with an
urban, high fashion theme. “We
have created a salon setting so the students will have a sense of
professionalism and artistry when they provide hair and nail services to
our guests.”
Protégé Academy of Cosmetology is offering Sallie May student
loans and both full time and a half time class schedules.
It is located at 16800 Chandler Rd. Ste #112, East Lansing. The phone is 517-324-3388 and the web site is www.protegeacademy.com.
